Riding In Michigan
Michigan Motorcycling is rapidly growing. There are great riding roads and beautiful places to discover. Though there are many brands of bikes to meet the desires of the enthusiasts, when you get down to the basics, there is a common thread that all "Bikers" will list; a sense of freedom ,exhilaration and a hard to describe real sense of adventure .
Geographically being surrounded by the Great Lakes makes us unique in itself. And Michigan isn't uniformly flat like a lot of people assume. Although some parts are, but many make up with it, with large rolling hills, valleys, giant sand dunes and rock out croppings.
There are over 3,000 miles of coastline, 11,000 inland lakes and over 36,350 miles of rivers and streams that criss cross across the state. Along with 200 waterfalls and

124 Lighthouses (more than any in any other union) grace this magnificent State with beauty. There are 97 state parks with scenic wilderness drives and thousands of winding back roads. You'll have a recipe for fantastic motorcycle adventures. To appreciate this state it has to be seen from its back roads and the forgotten towns.
The rides that you will find recommended have to be paved and in good condition, so large touring bikes and sport bikes can navigate safely. Second they have to have scenic appeal and character such as hills, curves, valleys and places of interest.
